Luisa Desmet


Luisa Maria da Silva Franco Desmet is a “Specialist of Recognized Experience and Professional Competence in Social Work” (CNAEF 762) by (Rectoral Dispatch nº 07/2015 of February 10 and by deliberation of the Executive Group elected at a meeting of the Scientific Council of ULHT on 2 February 2015). Master’s Degree in Intercultural Relations from the Open University (1998), Bachelor in Management and Public Administration with specialization in Human Resources (1988) and Bachelor in Social Work by the Institute of Social Service of Lisbon (1982). She is a guest lecturer at the Social Service Institute of the Lusófona University. She was Vice-President of the Portuguese Association for International Social Service (2006-
2012).

Research interests: Migrations (Immigration and Portuguese Emigration), Aging Studies and Studies on Disability.
